Philippe Aird - Masters of Art and Sport
29 October2016 - 12 February 2017
The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery
A retrospective of Philippe's work reflecting on the relationship between art and sport.
The exhibition will include a piece created jointly by Philippe and Darren Campbell.
This will be a rare opportunity so see such a large body of work in a public gallery giving
Philippe the status his work deserves.
The Exhibition also includes The City of Stoke sport show room featuring the work of award winning sport artist Paine Proffitt. The acclaimed local artist illustrates that the world of art and sport are not all that different. The artwork is a powerful reminder of how local clubs, teams and fans have helped to shape the character and identity of the people of the Potteries. The Potteries Museum has also nominated 4 outstanding athletes to represent the city as it’s “Masters of Art and Sport Ambassadors”: Kian Emadi and Emily Nelson - GB Cycling, Danielle Wyatt - England Country Cricket, and Ian Marsden - GB Paracanoe.
